Case: working with burnout and restoring inner resources
Ekaterina, aged 42, came for a consultation feeling emotionally and physically drained. She was finding it hard to go back to work after a long break, and she was experiencing tension in her relationships with her husband and father. She described her condition as feeling like
'someone had sucked all the life out of me'.
Over the course of several sessions, we explored Ekaterina’s boundaries, her internal sources of support and her automatic reactions when communicating with loved ones. Gradually, Ekaterina gained more clarity and a sense of her own stability.
As a result of our work:
Ekaterina was able to return to work without her previous resistance. She developed a clear sense of her boundaries and greater self-reliance. Interacting with her father no longer provoked violent emotional reactions.
Ekaterina became more aware of her own resources. Ekaterina noted that the feeling of 'emptiness' had been replaced by a more stable inner presence and an understanding of her needs.
